We've had a busy week reenacting the Boston Tea Party,
signing the Declaration of Friendship, and learning lots too! Enjoy the R&R
weekend! Here's a look into next week:
ELA: In Language Arts, students will continue the usual
Spalding routine. In literature, students will read deeper into the life of Nat
Bowditch in Carry On, Mr.
Bowditch. In writing, students
will continue to work on the traits of a good writer, with some focus being
turned towards AZ Merit.
Math: Students will continue to learn how to apply the
four operations to decimals, moving into thousandths.
History: This week, students will discuss how the
colonies were preparing for war and how they declared their independence from
Great Britain. The first battles are introduced, and the strategy to win the
war becomes clear. There will be a quiz on Chapters 10-14 next Thursday.
Science: In science, students look at how rocks are
formed and the impact of weathering and erosion on rocks and the earth’s surface.
They will write an essay on the rock cycle. Students will have a quiz on Rocks
next week.
